GenoPro can generate reports describing your genealogy data, ready for publishing on a web site (the narrative report) or to prepare a booklet (the descendants report). However, the skins that come with the installation kit are limited to English only. Volunteers have been making different translations of the dictionary file, allowing to generate reports in other languages as well. The page you are currently viewing is used to link to the latest versions of the GenoPro Flemish skin files. Although Dutch and Flemish are both rather similar, some local variants have lead to the creation of a separate version.
(1) In case you want to reinstall an older version of GenoPro, you can follow this link to get the corresponding kit. (2) Internet Explorer users: Click with the right mouse button and select "save target as" to download a copy of the file. Firefox users: Click with the left mouse button and select "save to disk" to download a copy of the file. If you have any remarks, suggestions or questions, please post a note in the GenoPro support sub-forum that is dedicated to Nederlands (with its Dutch and Flemish variants). This is also the location where I will be announcing and uploading a copy of the latest versions I have prepared. dictionary.xml To use this variant of the dictionary file please proceed as described in the help section on Report translation. Basically you will gave to go through following steps:
To generate a local version of the descendants report repeat the steps mentioned above, but in Step 1, in the "Report Skin / Skin Name" frame, select the "Descendants Report ..." skin. The same dictionary.xml file can be used for both the narrative and descendants report skins but must be copied to both sub-folders. xmldiff.zip This ZIP file contains a utility called "FPS XMLdiff.exe", a little tool I wrote to compare two versions of the dictionary.xml file GenoPro uses. I had to zip it because my web server does not like upper/lower case mixes nor spaces in file names. The screen interface allows you to visualize matches, additions, removals and changes from one version to the other. It also contains a hard-copy function (see Tools/Save Differences) that produces a text file with the display options you selected. Note 1: Comments are ignored and will neither be displayed nor compared. Note 2: The XML tags are qualified and sorted prior to comparison. The order in which they appear on the screen or in the saved report might be different from the order in the XML file. The tool comes "as is". I cannot promise you that it is bug free, nor can I offer you 24x7 support for enhancements. If needed, drop me a line at the GenoPro forum, I'll see what I can do. Oh yes, I nearly forgot. The "FPS" prefix stands for "Floating Point Software", the name of my company that is still on my drawing table. The FPS prefix was only added to differentiate this tool from the thousand or so others that can probably be found on the Internet. |
